the sound quality is fine. But to use several concerts per track is nonsensical!

Here is what you can read on Wikipedia concerning the official live album « Pulse » : « Unlike the previous live album Delicate Sound of Thunder, no parts of the songs were re-recorded in the studio. However, the band and Guthrie fixed songs that had bad notes (as heard on some bootlegs) by lifting solos and corrected vocal lines from other performances as the band recorded most of the European leg. »
Only naive people can believe that « official » live albums are « absolutely raw recordings », without any overdubs nor « sound lifting ». As far as I am concerned I don’t see any problem with the fact that someone uses the first part of a song and mix it with the second part of the song taken from another concert if the result is pleasant to listen to.

        Vaste débat, indeed.
I personnally have a collection of about 5000 LIVE records and of course what I prefer the most are those recorded in one single venue at one single date without too much of tweeking the sound in a studio afterwards… but yes I agree that most historical LIVE LPs or CDs have been magnificently reworked after the concert. And so what ? It’s only about listening to music, it’s only rock’n’roll…
